A phone. A machine.
A little setup.

Foreman is an iPhone app and a companion on the machine that runs your agent. It is not a hosted coding environment.

  1. 01

    Start with your iPhone.

You’ll need iOS 26 or later. The iPhone release is in preparation. The App Store link will appear here when it is available.

  2. 02

    Prepare your machine.

Use a Mac or Linux machine with opencode, git, and cloudflared installed. Configure your model provider in opencode. Your machine must stay awake and connected for remote work.

    Connect the two.

Download and install the Foreman companion for your platform, then follow its setup prompts to connect your phone. The companion and opencode run on the same machine.

05 / Know where the work goes

Your machine.
Not our workspace.

The Foreman Hub does not store your source code or conversations.

Your workspace and opencode sessions live on your instance. The optional Hub handles account and machine metadata; it is not a conversation relay.

That does not mean nothing leaves your machine. Your configured model providers receive requests. Apple receives notification payloads via APNs. If you connect GitHub through the Hub, it brokers scoped, read-only repository access.

What about self-hosting?

A few things worth knowing

Before you
head out.

Is Foreman an AI coding agent?

No. opencode runs the agent on your machine. Foreman is the iPhone interface for following sessions, sending instructions, reviewing results, and answering requests for permission.

Does my computer have to stay on?

Yes. The companion and opencode run together on your Mac or Linux machine. It needs to be awake and reachable. Foreman does not move the work to a hosted environment when your laptop closes.

Can I use my own models?

Foreman offers the models and agent modes available on your opencode instance. Configure providers there; provider accounts, usage charges, and model availability are separate from Foreman.

Can it push to my GitHub repositories?

Foreman’s GitHub integration requests read-only repository access, not write access. That is not a sandbox for your whole machine: opencode still has the local tools and permissions you give it. Review those permissions before leaving an agent running.

Do I have to use the Foreman Hub?

No. An instance can operate without a Hub connection. The Hub adds an account and a directory of your machines, not custody of your sessions. A standalone setup requires you to configure your own connectivity and any optional integrations.

Is the product demo connected to anything?

No. The interfaces on this page are HTML illustrations, not app screenshots. The approval demo changes local page text only. It starts no agent, executes no command, and sends no approval to a machine.

Take the work with you. Leave the desk behind.

Go on.
Get moving.
